                                    Artist’s Statement

For me, creating is a necessity as essential as breathing. Over the years I have created in a variety of media from quilting to needle arts to graphite illustration to my current passion, mixed media collage art. In mixed media art I focus on creating pieces that are rich in texture and design and I pay close attention to the backgrounds so they effectively support each focal image.
My collections include pieces with uplifting, inspirational messages and celebrations of the natural world and all its bounty. With a passion for all things vintage, I also feature imagery from long ago in my artwork. I tell a story about the subject and give new life to discarded photos as an homage to those who came before.

Using color-rich acrylic paints, inks and papers, I create work that leaves the viewer with a smile in their heart. My artwork is meant to inspire and uplift its audience and leave them feeling joyful in the human spirit and the beauty of the natural world.
